Join other Rotary high school exchange students from around the world on our 28-day unique annual Friends Forever Train Tour, staying at youth hostels, hotels, home stays and four nights right on the train in the roomy coach seats. Instead of a crowded bus, on the train we can get up, move around and buy snacks, dine, watch movies and lounge in the Scenic cruiser. Most importantly, there are several restrooms on the train.
The tour is managed and lead by Rotary multi-district SCANEX, Southern California Arizona Nevada Rotary International Youth EXchange, Inc. (including Hawaii and Utah).
The tour starts in Los Angeles mid-June, 2027 and ends in Washington, DC mid-July 2027 with a flight back to Los Angeles or other select airports. The tour cost $4,250 and a deposit of $1,000 upon accepted application. Exact dates will be announced by end of August, 2026.

Arrive in Los Angeles/Santa Monica (flight/transport to LAX not included) in the afternoon or evening. You will be escorted to the Hostel.
Hollywood, Venice, & Santa Monica Beach/Pier
San Francisco – Fisherman’s Wharf, bike the Golden Gate Bridge, Cable Cars and Chinatown
Portland, Oregon
Seattle – Take the Monorail to the Space Needle and Pike St. Market
Glacier National Park – white water rafting, park hike and paddle boards
Amtrak’s Empire Builder through Montana and the Dakotas
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – Host Families
Chicago – Lake Michigan, Rotary Int’l Headquarters & the “L” train
Niagara Falls – “Maid of the Mist” boat ride
Boston for the 4th of July, Harvard, Charles River, & Patriotic Face Painting
New York City – Times Square, Broadway, Statue of Liberty, Central Park, &Twin Towers Memorial
Washington DC – White House, monuments and museums
July 10th or 11th, 2027 tbd, return flights to LAX, LAS, SAN, ONT, SLC, PHX and possible other airports included in the cost.
The tour cost of $4,250 includes about two meals per day, rolling train duffle bag, 2 t-shirts, admissions to various venues, local transportation, tour administration / chaperones, return flight from DC, and Amtrak tickets.
